Kalyana Nada is home to the Nada family and lived as medicine and meditation every day. We are a multispecies family living a simple natural life on the land, drawing upon the wisdom of permaculture to reimagine how we live and work together.  At the core of our philosophy is the holding of land as sacred and the necessity of interspecies cooperation and coexistence.

Our tribe consists of: two humans, Mangalo and Chloë; two dogs Solly and Donnee; four cats Kaya, Tobi, Priya and Molly; three micro-pigs Sal, Frilla and Es; thirteen dwarf goats Yotee, Chiwii, Gigi, Chichi, Ruru, Aarini, Chichella, Venus, Pluto, Makemake, Ixion, Toto and Bo; three cockerels Mali, AG, and Liquorice, and their twelve girls (Cinzenta, Carmen, Boudica, Aliya, Donna, Ice, Belinda, Melissa, Laranja, the two G’s and Lilith); multiple bee colonies; many trees; and all sorts of other beings seen and unseen.

Together we nurture the land and experiment with ways to coexist and enhance each other, all of us doing our part.  We live off grid in structures made from natural and often repurposed materials making keen efforts to recycle all waste.  We are growing vegetables using hügelkultur, raising fruit trees, cultivating herbs, harvesting honey, propolis and beeswax, fermenting veggies and making preserves.

For the forest we are working towards a vision of sanctuary and biodiversity, improving the soil, creating water retention in the landscape, and favouring native tree species, to find a sustainable ecosystem that allows all beings to thrive.  We trust in the wisdom of Nature and are committed to letting her lead us, inspired by the work of re-wilding and the passion of learning from and about Nature.

We created a not for profit association called Lizard Paradise to share the beauty of Kalyana Nada with resonant others.  Volunteers are welcome to come and experience life with us.  We also offer retreat – self and guided/solitary or group, medicine weeks for individuals and groups, and gatherings to celebrate the quarter points of the Wheel of the Year (Equinoxes and Solstices).
